Canarian Television broadcasts this Saturday, March 12, the third program of Ruta 2035, a space dedicated to sustainable mobility by Yara de León and which on this occasion will address the use of recycled materials in the manufacture of electric vehicles. Bearing in mind that in the Canary Islands the link between the population and the sea is very strong, Ruta 2035 meets with Cupra to talk about its association with the Sequal Initiative. Together they have a direct impact on sustainable mobility thanks to the use of Sequal Yarn fabric inside their vehicles, made from marine litter collected from seas, oceans and rivers.
In this third stage of the journey towards a more sustainable mobility model, Ruta 2035 focuses on one of the main drawbacks that brands face when manufacturing an electric vehicle: the weight of the batteries. This installment analyzes the increasingly widespread use of light but very resistant materials such as carbon fiber to compensate for that extra weight and how manufacturers such as BMW have turned to great composers such as Hans Zimmer to create the sound that, by law, they have to emit their electrics when driving at low speed.
It will also delve into how hybrid technology has come to stay, starting this season, in the World Rally Championship with the new Rally1. And it is that the different electric championships have become the perfect field of experimentation to learn about the performance of the propellants, the capacity to regenerate charge and the autonomy of the batteries. This is well known to QEV Technologies, a Spanish company that has poured all its experience into top competition when creating electric vehicles and that receives a visit from the team of this program at its headquarters in Barcelona.
In the third installment of Route 2035, Yara de León makes her last stop with Ignacio Vega, manager of Canaauto, a BMW dealership in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to talk about the sector and hand over the keys to the BMW iX that will host the throughout this stage.
Ruta 2035 is a production by Ojo de Pez Audiovisual and Faconauto Canarias for Canarian Television.
