The Third Health Jurisdiction began the vaccination campaign against seasonal influenza, with a shipment of 7,500 vaccines that will initially be for the most vulnerable groups of the population, reported Gilma Alcocer.
These include children under 6 years of age, adults over 60 years of age, chronic degenerative patients, pregnant women, and patients with some illness, as well as personnel from all health areas, added the head of this health jurisdiction.
He highlighted that the vaccine will be applied in all health centers on this border, as well as in other public health institutions, which is why they urge the population to come and take advantage of this vaccine.
This campaign, which began on October 16 and concludes at the end of March next year, begins in advance so that citizens are protected before the days with low temperatures begin, he said.
Therefore, it is necessary that we get vaccinated against seasonal influenza and the pneumococcus vaccine that is applied every 5 years will also be applied, so if it is time to apply them, the secretary of health also sent doses, he indicated.
Finally, he commented that it is important to vaccinate the most vulnerable groups first and then the general population will be vaccinated.
