Just after 8 a.m. the fire brigade was alerted because of a domestic fire. It was soon scaled up to GRIP1, major fire.
It is a detached house on the Roodwilligenstraat. Emergency services, including a trauma helicopter, are en masse on the spot.
According to the police, it is not expected that more victims will be found. The fire is out, the house is now being ventilated. Firefighters are still on site to assist with the police investigation. For example, photos are taken from a platform.
Rolling shutters made it difficult to extinguish
Nothing is yet known about the cause of the fire in the detached house. Fighting the fire was made more difficult by the closed shutters. “First the shutters had to be opened with a grinder”, says spokesman Marco Misset of the Gelderland-Midden security region. “It takes time.”
A family with a daughter would live at the address.
