This weekend, Thionville is therefore one of eight cities in France, united around a common challenge for the 35th Telethon to form the word TELETHON, with their respective initials. Friday evening, the organizing committee, volunteers and the AFMTéléthon illuminated the large 10m steel “T”, placed on the ground in front of the town hall.
This letter made up of hundreds of LEDs and sheltering more than 80 people equipped with lamps and candles was lit in front of the national cameras of France Télévisions and in the presence of the young Noémie, godmother of # Télethon2021.
Like others committed to the fight against rare diseases, the Cattenom nuclear power plant hit hard this year by raising 13,000 euros in donations. More than 200 EDF employees, service providers and associative partners have worked and contributed to raising this sum. Part of the collection was carried on Friday evening by a team of runners who left the power plant to reach Thionville town hall. The runners skirted the edges of the Moselle for an arrival in the presence of Jérôme Le Saint, director of the CNPE. The Club Vosgien walkers also joined the left bank of Thionville, but without being able to cross the new Europe footbridge, as was exceptionally planned.
