In a serious tone, Pierre Cuny opened this municipal council by focusing on the war in Ukraine. After condemning the Russian invasion, the mayor asked the assembly to observe a time of silence “for the Ukrainian people. » Spiritual support which will be extended by local material aid: « Tomorrow [aujourd’hui], I will meet with all the charities in the city in order to set up food and humanitarian aid for Ukraine”. The resources collected will be part of a larger-scale solidarity movement coordinated with the Region and the Department: “The idea is to collectively deliver, and in a thoughtful way, this essential aid for Ukrainians” . An entry charged with emotion. Mathilde Ramos, the young counterpart of Pierre Cuny at the head of the junior municipal council, unveiled her action program. Two schools, one director
From next September, a joint administrative department will manage the La Petite Lor kindergarten and the Victor Hugo school group. Multi-storey car park
Archaeological excavations, an established figure in the field of construction, have revealed nothing under the ground of the old Sernam warehouses. Freed from this constraint, the municipality can now give substance to its major revitalization project for the Gare district. Which provides for the construction of 79 housing units, including 35 social rental units, 1,068 m² of office space and 730 parking spaces in the form of a parking garage. The project, led by the company Linkcity Nord-Est, is located on land belonging to the SNCF, rue des Abattoirs. Pierre Cuny’s ambition, namely to absorb the huge flow of rail passengers, “which will double by 2026”, provides for a heavy investment of nearly €11 million including tax: “This will be a second work co-financed by Luxembourg” , recalls the mayor. The Region and the State are also stakeholders in this file which will change the face of the right bank.
