The two recent dramas, in Hayange with the death of Stéphanie Di Vincenzo and in Metz-Borny, do they influence the attendance of the permanence?
“It is still too early to draw any conclusions… But yes, since Hayange’s feminicide, there has been a resurgence of women oriented towards the device. This increase is part of a trend that has grown steadily in recent years. The figures speak for themselves: in 2019, we received and supported 140 people compared to… 77 the previous year. There, from January to May, we have already reached this number of… 140 receptions. Clearly, women are more daring to talk about their situations. “
The two feminicides previously mentioned question the response given to complaints filed by abused women. Your opinion ?
“It is true that some women told us that they did not receive a suitable reception when they went to file a complaint. This feeling can arise following a simple reflection of the agent who receives the victim… Our social worker in the gendarmerie has the role of familiarizing the new gendarmes with the reception of women victims of violence. This training component must be accentuated. “
From a legal standpoint, is it complex to prove that one is a victim of domestic violence?
” Yes it is. Justice works with facts. In cases of psychological violence, you need certificates, testimonies, written records. Physical violence cannot be observed by his attending physician. They must imperatively be certified by the Medico-Judicial Unit (UMJ). It is this service that assesses the extent of violence by reducing it to days of ITT (temporary incapacity for work). Alongside this, there is still progress: the police can go to hospitals to collect a complaint. This was not the case before. ”

For who ? The Léa permanence, a place of listening and reception, is aimed at women victims of violence in the broad sense.
Or ? In the premises of the PAEJ (Apsis-Emergence association) at 25, rue de la Vieille-Porte in Thionville (tel .: 06 80 66 57 05). A permanence is also organized every 4e Monday of the month on the territory of the community of communes of Cattenom: 22, rue du Silo in Entrange from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
When? Mondays (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.), Tuesdays (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.) and Friday (9 a.m. – 12 p.m.).
