Thionville. Psychologists, dentists, paramedics: “A densified offer”

“A medical fabric that is redrawing itself. The delicate image is signed by Jean-Christophe Hamelin-Boyer. The elected municipal official, who is also a community advisor in charge of health issues within the Thionville agglomeration, feels the pulse of the Côte des Roses district racing in terms of health care. The development of the Bel-Air hospital and the recent and future establishments of professionals confirm this impression.

Hospitable hotel

The symbolic laying of the first stone of the future hospital hotel, located on Place Saine-Anne, is imminent. As part of the neighborhood renovation project supported by the City, the site will have 25 housing units in hospital residences, for patients and their families, and twice as much for doctors in training and students: “A consultation room is also scheduled, ”explains Jean-Christophe Hamelin-Boyer.

Maternity

A giant soon to wake up. The future maternity unit at Bel-Air hospital will complete its last phase of testing in early February. The infrastructure, the final cost of which is around 40 M €, will house 41 practitioners, 150 paramedics and 57 midwives. 2,500 births per year are expected there. Its influence will benefit the entire health ecosystem of the district: “Directing their patients to a maternity unit of this size is a huge asset for general practitioners in Thionville”.

Dentists and psychologists

The plaque has just been affixed. A practice of dental surgeons has taken up its quarters on rue Saint-Hubert. In a few months, these specialists will be living under the same roof with three psychologists.

Clinéa

Geographically, this newcomer to the Thionville medical landscape is located on the edge of the Côte des Roses: “You just have to cross the street to find a clinic”, smiles the Thionville elected official in a very Macronian tone. A reference to the Clinéa clinic, specializing in psychiatric treatment, opened last October in place of the former Paul-Valéry college. Here too, Jean-Christophe Hamelin-Boyer sees it as a solid ally for city medicine: “There was a lack in this area. I am thinking in particular of young people who suffer from depression, behavioral problems or anorexia ”.

Medical center

Here again, the infrastructure is located at the gateway to the Côte des Roses. But for the inhabitants of the district, this future medical center located in the place of the old Lidl, “at the end of the end of the Allée de la Liberation”, is part of a close and familiar environment. The works will begin in February and consist of setting up eight cells dedicated to general practitioners and paramedical sectors.
