We learn of the death of Doctor Bernard Py, which occurred on Monday, November 9, in Vandeuvre-les-Nancy. Born in Thionville in 1934, he spent his schooling there. Having gone to study medicine in Nancy then in Paris, he returned to settle in Thionville in 1966 as a gastroenterologist in rue Castelnau while being attached to the Bel-air hospital. Married to Evelyne née Grislin, they had four children, Isabelle, Bruno, Geneviève and Anne-Marie and twelve grandchildren. Dr Bernard Py has always devoted himself to others through his implications in the life of the St-Maximin parish, the Athens association and more generally in the life of the city. He got involved very early on in ecology, long chairman of the Association for the Protection of the Moselle Valley (ASVM). His humanism transcended borders as his actions within the Lorraine-Nepal association demonstrated.
The religious ceremony will take place in family intimacy, on Friday, November 13, at 3 p.m., in the St-Maximin church in Thionville, followed by the cremation. Our condolences to the family.
