This weekend, the Thionville Maquette-club is returning to its habits, somewhat forgotten “due to Covid and the demolition of the Jean-Burger room where our exhibition was usually held”, as Michel Katola recalls, president of the association since 1998. The structure, which has around fifteen members, used to hold a show every two years. “But we have taken a break since 2018,” adds the president. Saturday, from 9 a.m., the approximately 200 exhibitors, coming from around fifty clubs, some of which are twinned with the Thionville structure, are expected at the space multifunctional of Veymerange.
“Exchange advice”
“Our club is renowned, people are always delighted to come,” says the president, announcing participants from Colmar, Strasbourg, Mainz or Merschweiller (Germany), Brussels or Amay (Belgium). Without forgetting a Thionvillois, fan of scratch building [ndlr : pratique qui consiste à fabriquer ses pièces ou à recourir à la récupération]. » If no creation is sold, it will be possible to participate in the exchange to exchange or buy kits and accessories, sometimes old, or to find ad hoc literature. The opportunity, also, to obtain advice from the most experienced on airbrush painting, in particular. In short, models are a bit like Tintin, they are for all generations from 7 to 77 years old… provided you demonstrate attention to detail, skill, curiosity and patience, of course!
