Thionville. Let history secrets whisper in your ear

Since March 3, a first podcast – an audio recording for the uninitiated – has been available on the website of the Pays Thionvillois tourist office. Reduced to action since the health crisis, its agents have not remained inactive.

“Since we could no longer meet with our customers to travel together the beautiful corners of our beautiful destination, we had the idea of making this heritage discovered differently by infusing tourism in the ears of our potential visitors”, explains Julie Weiler. , the communications manager.

Taking advantage of training on multimedia and digital media, experts in the territory, guides and other partners were offered the opportunity to put into words and sounds a place or a history linked to a particular place.

“Each territory has its stories, anecdotes and legends,” insists Julie.

Two episodes already available

“We want to share our favorites from the Pays Thionvillois and our local gems. A guided tour to listen to on the bus or in your kitchen, to experience a little as if you were there and above all to make you want to come and find us. »But also a fun way to learn and discover this rich heritage in a quirky way. “And recorded with seriousness but without taking itself too seriously”, insists the representative of Pays Thionvillois Tourisme.

This is also why the episodes do not exceed 10 minutes. “They have to be short, captivating and catchy. »Two are already online on the website of the office (www.thionvilletourisme.fr) and on platforms dedicated to podcasts: the Yutz vase case and the B17 crash in Beuvange.

For the latter, it is Rémi who stuck to it. “I tried to be an educator, to already explain what a B17 is, then to present the facts chronologically”, assures Julie’s colleague.

The next episodes will concern the Bastions of Thionville (narrated by Geoffrey Félici, history teacher and municipal councilor), Thionville at the time of Charlemagne or even the Château de la Grange. So, don’t hesitate to let yourself be whispered.
