Thionville. He steals a motorbike that’s running out of gas

On the occasion of the case judged this Tuesday, April 20 before the judicial court of Thionville, the deputy prosecutor Anissa Madouri underlined: “It is a case of clever delinquency, but the defendant is anything but clever. Moreover, the young man having to appear free, he did not even deign to appear at the bar or to seek advice from a lawyer …

The business starts in August 2020, on a famous classifieds site. A woman sells the motorbike bought for her son but no longer needed. History to recover some hard cash on his investment. The accused contacts her to arrange a test. Appointment is made on 15 in a large car park in Vitry-sur-Orne. Two friends of the saleswoman will act as intermediaries for the transaction. The respondent, then barely 18 years old, was dropped off on the spot. Perhaps dreaming of Valentino Rossi, talent less, he climbs on the bike. A short walk in the parking lot, another on the roundabout and he picks up his first gadin. With a sign, the defendant reassures the intermediaries before getting back into the saddle. No more test question, however, but rather a greening, direction Richemont.

A motorcycle rendered unusable

Lack of pot, the sellers had a fine nose. The tank is almost empty. Especially since the accused, according to witnesses, makes the machine howl. The engine lets it be known that it does not mean it that way and forfeits it, bringing the budding crook’s race to a halt. Here too, we are far from the thieves who, like Albert Spaggiari, have gone down in history … The unusable motorcycle is abandoned in a field under the dumbfounded gaze of nearby residents. The young man contacted his driver to be recovered, and assured during his hearing, not to have contacted the sellers again for fear of reprisals. The two-wheeler was found but was irreparably damaged by the race. It was subsequently destroyed, the cost of repairs being too high compared to the value of the machine.

In the end, the defendant was found guilty of the charges and sentenced to two months in prison suspended. He will also have to compensate the victim.
