Thionville. Designed for the Paris Olympics, the Behm security gantry is being improved

A few days ago, the Rockhal in Esch-sur-Alzette offered an ultra-reduced gauge concert. At the entrance, the public had to submit to the essential filter of the security gate. A gantry that is apparently all the more classic, but which, in fact, is a small gem of technicality. Mobil security, that’s its name, is developed by the Thionville company Behm, which patented the concept in the fall of 2019. At the time, it was a question of seducing the strategic committee of the security industries sector of Paris 2024 Olympic Games. A goal achieved, which the pandemic has put on hold. But not destroyed, far from it.

Alain Behm, the manager, and his teams took advantage of this period to develop mobile gantries. The company has also been approached by a heavyweight in the German electronics industry, Rohde & Schwarz, who wants to find new markets for its microwave scanner that makes it easier to spot any non-organic object on an individual. “This facilitates the work of the guards; the search no longer becomes an obligation. We see this as a positive point, while the pandemic has brought about the importance of barrier gestures, ”slips Alain Behm.

In the coming weeks, additional tests will be carried out in the French premises of Rodhe & Schwarz. The marketing of Mobil security modules is expected in the spring. In Thionville, where the Behm company is historically established, this diversification is eagerly awaited. It will motivate additional jobs.
