Thionville. Container fire at the Beau-Rivage residence: investigation in progress

A fire broke out on the night of Friday May 13 to Saturday May 14. The facts took place at the Beau-Rivage residence, rue du Général-de-Castelnau, in Thionville, where four garbage containers caught fire, inside the garbage room of the twelve-storey building.

If no injuries are to be deplored, 25 people had to be evacuated. They were able to return to their accommodation at the end of the operations. Only one had to be relocated.

According to initial findings, the origin of the fire is likely intentional. Investigations are ongoing.

On site from 2:30 a.m., firefighters from Thionville, Yutz, Hettange-Grande and Metzervisse intervened until 6 a.m.
