Thionville. A survey of traffic flows

One of the main challenges of the Thionville 2030 program for the municipality is the improvement of mobility. The latter explains that “with the Europa portal, the construction of the future parking silos of the station and the arrival of the High Service Level Bus, the implementation of a new strategy is already underway”. With this in mind, a survey on traffic flows in the city center will be carried out on 17 and 24 November, structured as follows: this Thursday 17 November, automatic counts by reading license plates to find out the origin and destination of vehicles; Thursday 24 November polls-interviews with motorists stopped at a red light.

The objectives are to update data on traffic flows using the Pont des Alliés and Boulevard Schuman, feed reflection on access to the station and the city center and evaluate the impacts of the Thionville 2030 Rive Straight and Crowned projects on traffic.

This investigation therefore aims to confirm the overall traffic operation, the sizing of the lanes and the intersections foreseen in the context of these future projects.
