THIONVILLE. A solidarity organic collection in favor of the most disadvantaged

The third national edition of the organic solidarity collection organized by the Biocoop store network will take place on June 4 and 5, in the Linkling area, with the participation of the Thionville Humanitarian Action Collective and the Thionville Communal Social Action Center. The idea is to promote the access of people in great precariousness to quality food by collecting a maximum of organic food and hygiene products on the basis of donations made by the store’s customers. About fifteen volunteers from the Thionvillois Humanitarian Action Collective, which for 35 years has been serving people in great poverty, will be mobilized to collect and then sort the organic products harvested (canned vegetables, meat or fish, dry cakes, cereals, pasta , rice, oil, hygiene products, etc.).

Donations and a check

These foodstuffs will then be used to stock the shelves of the social and solidarity grocery store and allow the most disadvantaged customers to have access to organic food. But the circle would not be closed if the Biocoop store had not undertaken to pay back in the form of a check the equivalent of the margin made on the sale of the products collected. This financial boost will allow the Thionville association to buy equipment and other products, always for the benefit of people in great poverty.

Collection organized on June 4 and 5 from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Biocoop store, rue le Kem, Linkling zone in Thionville
