THINK wants to waive curfew for mosque volunteers during Ramadan

If it is up to THINK, mosques will soon be able to apply for an exemption from the curfew for their volunteers. This allows the volunteers to provide online services in the street after curfew and in the mosque.

This is already possible in the Gooi en Vechtstreek safety region. The exemption does not apply to visitors, they must follow the services from home.

THINK councilor Sheher Khan wants the city council to also provide exemptions for mosque volunteers and has therefore asked written questions. “Is the college aware of this decision? Does the college share the view that such a waiver can contribute to a better organization and facilitation of prayer services?” Khan asks.

Ramadan could already start on Monday. Khan asks whether the city council is willing to allow the exemption and, if so, whether the city council should bring it to the attention of the mosques in the city as soon as possible.
