Actor Thijs Römer must appear in court in Assen on June 19 for alleged sexual offenses. A spokesperson for the Public Prosecution Service (OM) has confirmed this ANP let them know.
In November it was announced that the OM is prosecuting the actor for three sex offenses. It concerns online sex offenses with three underage girls, who were aged fourteen to sixteen at the time.
The offenses took place from 2015 to the end of 2017. The OM reports that there was no physical contact between Römer and the victims. The case is in Assen because the alleged victims live in the Northern Netherlands.
The 44-year-old Römer was discredited last year because a twenty-year-old woman sent him via Twitter had accused her of sexual misconduct when she was fourteen. The actor denied those allegations.
