Thieves steal medals from Chelsea’s Reece James home | sports

LONDON (AP) – A group of thieves broke into Reece James’ house and stole the medal he had won as champion of the Champions League, taking advantage of the fact that the footballer was absent on Tuesday, playing a game with Chelsea.

The England defender himself posted a video on Thursday showing four people apparently crossing the gates of his property. Reece asked for help to identify the intruders, noting on Instagram that there are “solid clues” in advance to find those responsible.

“They managed to collectively carry a heavy safe with some of my personal items inside it to their car,” James detailed.

The 21-year-old added that the safe contained his Champions League monarch medal and the UEFA Super Cup winner’s medal he won with Chelsea this year. In the safe there was also a runner-up medal that was hung with the England team at the 2021 European Championships.

James said no one was home during the robbery he suffered while playing Zenit St. Petersburg in the Champions League, a match Chelsea won 1-0 at Stamford Bridge.
