Thieves Rob Bronx Mini Market, Steal $100,000 in Cash – Bodegas Unidas de América Offers Reward

A group of thieves broke into a mini market in the Bronx and in a few minutes they took about $100,000.

The robbery occurred Sunday night at the Los Castillo Mini Market business located on Universidad Avenue and 174th in the Morris Heights area.

The business owner noticed the theft on Monday when opening the business.

According to him, the criminals entered through the back door.

The two suspects attempted to block the business’s security cameras using spray paint, but were unable to disable all of them and were caught on video.

The images show how they go straight to the deli’s cash register and steal the cash.

They also cut off the internet in the place.

The organization Bodegas Unidas de América points out that these events are becoming more frequent and offers a reward of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.

“It is an excessive sum that is going to do a lot of damage to the economy of the business because the profit on that money is very little,” said Fernando Mateos of the organization Bodegas Unidas de América.

The winemakers attributed the increase in robberies to the fact that the bail law allows many criminals to be released from jail hours after committing the robberies.
