Cologne | The Cologne police are looking for a 40 to 50-year-old thief who stole the handbag of a fallen pedestrian (82) on Höninger Weg in Cologne-Zollstock on Tuesday morning, May 2nd.

Around 9:15 a.m., the approximately 1.60 meter tall cyclist is said to have stopped next to the woman who was still on the ground and offered her help. When the 82-year-old accepted the bogus offer of help, the woman grabbed the light green leather-handled purse and drove off towards the foothills road with the loot. In fact, the woman is said to have worn an anorak and trousers.

According to those who were robbed, the woman she was looking for is described as slim and petite. She is said to have spoken with a Rhenish dialect. A bicycle basket was mounted on the luggage rack.

The police will take information by phone on 0221 229-0 or by email to poststelle.koeln@polizei.nrw.de.
