Thief loots money pot in church and leaves music on

Police officer Hicham Argani shared a rather mysterious report on Instagram on Sunday about the church of Nuland. The doors of the church were wide open, the lights were out, music was playing and the perpetrator robbed the church’s money pot.

This is a report from a few weeks ago. “What God has joined…”, hangs in block letters above the altar. “That immediately caught my attention,” agent Argani writes on his Instagram. The slogan refers to a Bible verse. It is now clear that this sign is standard.

The officer received a report at 01:45 a.m. that the doors of the Sint Jans Beheading Church were open. While his colleague was walking around the building, Argani went inside with his flashlight. It is dark and there is church music. “It almost seems like I put that under it myself, but that’s not the case,” he says about the video.

No traces
There are no signs of breaking into the church. So the door was inexplicably wide open. The police officers also did not get the music turned off and it was a mystery how it started in the first place.

During the check, the money pot of the church was found to be empty. “The last thing you do is steal from a church,” the officer wrote. It is not yet known who did the mysterious looting and how much was stolen.
