PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM) officially launched the latest model of its flagship 150 cc sport fairing motorcycle, the Yamaha R15, Wednesday (1/12/2021). The appearance of the Yamaha R15 V4 is more like a motorcycle, because it carries DNA taken from the Yamaha YZF R1 sport bike.
The launch was carried out virtually through the Yamaha Indonesia YouTube channel, Wednesday (1/12/2021). This motorbike actually launched first in India, the Yamaha R15 V4 not only got a touch in terms of appearance, but also studded with contemporary technology to challenge the Honda CB150R, and Suzuki GSX-R150.
This time Yamaha presents two variants of the R15, namely the type Yamaha R15 V4 and Yamaha R15M. The R15 V4 is inspired by the YZF-R1, while the R15M is inspired by the M1 MotoGP race bike and the R1M motorcycle.

In terms of looks, the latest Yamaha R15 has a touch of renewal. Starting from the fascia, it is now sportier with the M Shape Intake Duct, as well as the use of projector lamps in the middle and positioning lamps like the Yamaha R7 supersport motorcycle.

The R15M and R15 V4 are equipped with a full digital speedometer. This motorbike also features Y-Connect connectivity, Assist Slipper Clutch and VVA (Variable Valve Actuation). While the features in premium motorbikes such as Quick Shifter, Dual Channel ABS, Big Bike Engine Switch Off, and Traction Control are only available on the highest variant of the Yamaha R15M motorbike.
The latest generation of Yamaha R15 is equipped with a cluster panel like that of the R1. This feature displays a number of indicators, such as gear, street, track, quick shifter, battery status, fuel status, speedometer, tachometer, odometer, tripmeter, including SMS alerts and calling alerts. The cluster panel has also been connected to the Yamaha Motorcycle Connect feature, as is already in the Yamaha MAXI line (Nmax and Aerox).
Interestingly, the R15M has two driving modes, namely street and track. From the name it can be seen, if the street mode is used for the highway and the track mode for the closed circuit track. Other features that are still available on this motorbike are the Upside Down (USD) front suspension and the banana swingarm.

The latest Yamaha R15 is both equipped with a 155 cc LC4V engine capable of spewing power of 14.2 kW at 10,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 14.7 Nm at 8,500 rpm.
The price of the latest Yamaha R15 is sold starting from 38.9 million for the Yamaha R15 Connected variant, and the Yamaha R15M Connected ABS Rp 43.5 million. The All New R15M Connected-ABS consists of a choice of Icon Performance colors and a Yamaha World Grand Prix 60th Anniversary livery. While the All New R15 Connected has Icon Blue and Tech Black colors.
