It’s turbulent at Chelsea and coach Mauricio Pochettino has been told to hang loose. However, firing him would be hugely costly and could cause trouble based on the Premier League’s financial regulations.
On Sunday, “The Blues” fell 4-2 against Wolves and immediately after the match, Thiago Silva’s wife, Belle, went out and wrote a critical post on X, which was widely circulated.
“It’s time for change. If you wait any longer, it will be too late,” wrote Belle Silva.
The post has now resulted in Thiago Silva having a talk with coach Pochettino.
– He came to me today to talk. He wanted to talk to me… It (the conversation) was private and that’s all. My relationship with him is very good. I even think it’s brilliant, says Pochettino according to CBS journalist Ben Jacobs.
When asked if he heard anything about the confidence from the owners, Pochettino replies:
– I have received very nice messages from them. I think we’re all in this together and that’s the important thing. Of course, I am in contact with them and the sports director every day.
Chelsea are eleven in the Premier League. On Wednesday, Aston Villa will be the opposition in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
