Veteran center back Thiago Silva is considering his future. Silva has the potential to hang up his boots after his contract with Chelsea finished later.
Thiago Silva, 39 years old, is in the final year of his contract. Recent news has stated that Chelsea is not interested in extending his tenure.
If that happens, the former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain player will be without a club next summer. Even though Thiago Silva can still be relied on. Silva has played the full game in each of the Blues’ 10 Premier League matches this season.
For now Thiago Silva has not yet made a decision regarding the continuation of his career. However, what is clear is that Silva will put his family’s interests first.
“The end of my career is near, and it’s not easy,” the Brazil international said Sky Sport Italia. “I have to think about whether I retire or continue playing, and where I want to go.”
“There’s my family, I have two sons who play for Chelsea. Right now I’m going to take the opportunity to play and make the most of my last year at Chelsea. However, I’m happy and proud of the career I’ve had, what I’m doing at the age of 39.”
“I have prepared myself all my life to maximize my work, football is my passion. Of course, after I retire, I will still live in this world. I don’t know what it will be like yet,” Thiago Silva add.
