Corinthians advanced in talks with Flamengo to sign midfielder Thiago Maia and right-back Matheuzinho. At the request of coach Tite, the Rio club should receive midfielder Fausto Vera in the negotiation.
The arrival of the duo would fill two gaps at Corinthians. The club was looking for a backup for Fagner with the likely departure of Bruno Méndez. Rafael Ramos, hired at the request of Vítor Pereira, was not excited and has been behind even the young Léo Maná in Mano Menezes’ preference.
Conversations between the two boards began because of Corinthians’ interest in Gabigol and remain friendly. The São Paulo club has not yet given up on signing the striker and is trying to design an offer that will please Flamengo.
