Thiago Alcántara is no longer part of Hansi Flick’s staff. The former Barcelona player, who hung up his boots this summer, decided to accept the German coach’s offer to do his training as a coach under him. Thiago also had the advantage of being fluent in German, having spent almost nine years at Bayern Munich. With this very favourable background, Flick brought him on board, and he also played a very important role during training, especially when it came to supervising ball work.
Thiago, who travelled to the United States with the Blaugrana team, concluded his training at Barcelona this week, which will help him obtain the official coaching title. In principle, his departure will be covered by the Cadet A coach, Arnau Blanco, who was already at the training session on Friday.
The club and Flick’s staff have made a very positive assessment of Thiago’s role, so the doors are completely open for him to return when he obtains the coaching title in a few months.
