Mazatlán, Sin. The public lighting of the city in the tourist area, from Rafael Buelna Avenue to the Lighthouse, will be turned off so that the solar eclipse can be seen on Monday.
City hall authorities reported that from early this Monday it will be closed to vehicular circulation until after noon, when the pedestrian area is cleared, so that attendees, both visitors and locals, can appreciate the solar eclipse.
In the Sister Cities park, tests were carried out for the telescope teams that will be there on the 8th to observe the total solar eclipse, with the assistance of scientists and tourists, as well as local people who arrived at the place.
Mayor Edgar González reported that the security plan was activated as of this day with the participation of different police corporations to protect the integrity of the people who arrived at the coastal promenade.
At the Mintaka observatory station, located in the town of Chirimoyos Concordia, the attendance of more than 500 people who came to camp since this Sunday to be present on the day of the Eclipse was confirmed, reported Juan Carlos Peralta, responsible for the site.
