They will release an unreleased album by Joan Sebastian – El Sol de México

In order to keep Joan Sebastian’s legacy alive, the singer’s family decided to release unreleased songs that the artist left before he died in 2015. They made the announcement on the 73rd anniversary of the composer’s birth.

There are around 500 songs that the “King of Jaripeo” possibly wrote, reported his daughter Joana Marcelia Figueroa and that they will release gradually in the coming years.

At the moment, they only made a compilation of 12 new songs, which will be available on the posthumous album Volví pa’l pueblo, accompanied; This will feature the collaboration of different artists, who, thanks to technology, will perform songs as a duet with the artist.

“Continuing with my dad’s legacy is an issue that matters a lot to us as a family, I have been at the forefront, I like to make sure it is something well done. He was an impeccable, correct man, but above all he always sought to ensure that his essence was not lost,” said Joana, daughter of Joan Sebastian, at a press conference.

My dad came from the bottom and he really liked supporting new talents. Joana, daughter of Joan Sebastian.

“I realized that it is nice to merge talent with new artists and, as long as it is cared for and well done, we will continue with this idea. My dad was a person who always fought, was a dreamer, who came from below and really liked to support new talents. When he saw young people from outside, no matter their age, he supported them in everything, he moved many fibers because he started from scratch,” he added.

The first song that Delas will release, a duet with Luis R. Conríquez.

“Joan Sebastian’s song is something different from the genre we do (belicón), but it is not outside of what we sing. We sing a lot of Joan covers, we like that side and I felt like I needed one of those songs. We agreed to do it hand in hand with our roots because one grew up with ranchera music,” commented Luis R. Conríquez.

I feel very grateful for this opportunity.Luis R. Conríquez.

“Joan inspired the careers of many Mexican artists, he was a great writer. It is something that one does not expect, to be here, to belong to this movement that is here to remember Joan and I feel very grateful for this opportunity,” said Conríquez.

Of them, the first single from the posthumous album will be released on April 11 on platforms. At the moment, the date on which the album is complete has not yet been revealed.

Joana assured that the musical decisions that have been made so far have the approval of the family; She acknowledged that it is difficult to please everyone (the children), but they found the best way to reach an agreement.

The death of Joan and Julián are dates that marked the life of the Figueroa family

Joana claimed to have mixed feelings. The announcement of Joan Sebastian’s new album material was today, April 8, the 73rd anniversary of her father’s birth. Also on April 9 marks the first death anniversary of his brother Julián, son of Maribel Guardia.

“These are very significant and painful dates that mark my life, but here we are remembering the beauty of my father’s album. Speaking of Julián, he cared a lot that my dad’s music continued to be heard, that new talents and artists continued to make known the music that already exists and unreleased songs.

“Before I was hesitant to enter the duets, but we gave ourselves the opportunity as a family to listen to the material and we think it turned out very well, for me it is very special, whether they are old songs, unpublished songs, alone or with someone else, it makes my skin crawl.” “Chinita,” said Joana.
