The press conference will take place from 11:30, the health ministry said.
The donated vaccines will be distributed as follows: Vietnam will receive 500,000 doses and the Republic of Mozambique, 450,000.
Meanwhile, in the next few days the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States will receive 18,000 for Saint Lucia; 11,000 for Granada; 11,000 for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; and 2,000 for Dominica.
In addition, the Ministry pointed out that Argentina is working with other nations such as Barbados, Nicaragua, Angola, Kenya and the Philippines, which have already expressed “Interest in receiving donations of vaccines and showed their gratitude to our country.”
In this framework, the White Helmets Commission chaired by Sabina Frederic, and which depends on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, initiated the negotiations for assistance and solidarity exchange of experiences in managing the Covid-19 so that, as is being done globally, Argentina respond positively and proactively to international needs caused by the pandemic.
They recalled that Argentina received donations that exceeded 7 million doses and that allowed to accelerate the application of doses to provide complete protection to most of the population.
In this sense, by having the stock of vaccines necessary for its population, “our country is in a position to promote equitable and timely access to vaccines designed to generate acquired immunity against Covid-19.”
