Tegucigalpa, Honduras (09.14.2024). – They will not return! shouted thousands of activists and supporters of the Liberty and Refoundation Party (Libre) in unison at the massive rally this Saturday, September 14, in front of the Presidential House in support of President Xiomara Castro, and in commemoration of the 203 years of independence of Honduras.
Under the slogan “People’s Power against the coup d’état in Defense of Dignity, Democracy and against the Threat to our Independence,” the rally became a clear declaration of resistance and unity.
Carrying flags and banners, the attendees did not skimp on energy as they chanted slogans such as “They will not return!”, in reference to the political opponents facing the current Honduran president.
In addition to commemorating independence, the rally also served as a space to reflect on the achievements made under Castro’s rule.
The event is part of a series of demonstrations in defense of democracy and the independence of Honduras.
This meeting reaffirms the Libre Party’s commitment to the Honduran people and its determination to confront any threat to the country’s stability.
