Morelia, Michoacan (MiMorelia.com) .- The Municipal Institute of Women for Substantive Equality (IMUJERIS), carried out the Breast Cancer Detection Day, in the Villas del Pedregal subdivision and this next Wednesday will take place in the Morelos tenure.
As part of the activities that have been developed during the month of March, within the framework of the International Women’s Day, a broad program was launched with actions in matters of health, prevention of gender violence, dissemination of women’s Human Rights, culture, among other aspects.
According to data from National Institute of Statistic and Geography (INEGI), “at the national level, the mortality rate from breast cancer is 17.19 deaths for every 100 thousand women aged 20 years or more”, so that the general director of IMUJERIS, Concepcion Torres Zaragoza, stressed the importance of prevention and timely detection of this condition.
In this context, the Institute, with the support of the State Secretariat of Health, held the Breast Cancer Detection Day, in the Villas del Pedregal neighborhood, for the benefit of the Morelians who live in this area of the municipality, in where information regarding said disease was provided and free mammograms were performed.
This activity will be replicated next Wednesday, March 31, in the Main Plaza of Morelos, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., so IMUJERIS invites the Morelianas to attend and receive the services that will be provided in this Conference for the benefit of women’s health.
