The Superintendence of Sanitation Services (SISS) will be deployed on the ground to monitor the mitigation measures adopted by the drinking water supply company Essbio, as a result of the work that will be carried out during the night of Tuesday, March 7, and early Wednesday morning, March 8. same month, when the supply will be cut between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m., due to the execution of works within the framework of the Comprehensive Network Management project carried out by the private company.
The head(s) of the Superintendency of Sanitary Services in Ñuble, Erwir Kehr, reported that they could be affected by pressure drops and a total cut off of the supply to the order of 2,596 families in the northern part of the street on the way to San Bernardo (east of the Bío Bío University) in the northeastern sector of Chillán, as a result of these works consisting of the installation of a pressure regulating valve at the outlet of the north pond.
The Ñuble Public Works Seremi, Paulo De la Fuente Paredes, pointed out that these are scheduled works, where the advance notification to families by the private company has been complied with, and they are part of the work to strengthen the network that has also instructed the SISS.
“In coordination with the SISS and the company that supplies drinking water to the regional capital, they have established a scheduled drinking water cutoff in the northeastern sector of the regional capital, especially on the San Bernardo road. This is part of an annual planning that is the development plan that is required of the sanitary companies, and this is being fulfilled to the letter. The purpose is to strengthen the network, precisely to avoid cuts due to matrix breaks or other problems,” said the MOP authority.
De la Fuente Paredes specified that, as mitigation measures, Essbio will install two 1,200-liter tanks that will be located on Las Termas street between Brisas de Génova passages and Brisas Venetianas passage; and the second pond will be located in Brisas Mediterráneas street corner Cerro del León street.
