They were the first in Mineralni Bani to start heating the kindergarten with hot water

They opened the installation in 1988, now they are preparing the building for pellets

For the first time in our country with hot mineral water began to heat the kindergarten in the resort Mineralni Bani, Haskovo region, 34 years ago. They haven’t stopped since. However, the municipality is also thinking of an alternative with pellets, in case the state takes away its right to use the mineral water free of charge after years.

The kindergarten with 100 places was opened on February 25, 1988. The project for underfloor heating was developed by Eng. Emil Prodanov, with him

do not waste and do not

contaminates and grams of

mineral water

After passing through the pipes of the heating system, the water returns to the wellbore.

The Mineral Baths were far-sighted. 34 years ago, electricity and oil cost pennies, and no one saw the point of harnessing geothermal water for heating. Today, however, when prices soar, thanks to the project, the nursery pays for electricity between BGN 300 and 700 per month – as much as the pump that brings hot water to the building.

When the new kindergarten was opened, its current director, Tanya Yaneva, was its first-grade graduate. The children have halved to 53 now, but the rest is the same. The water for underfloor heating – there are no radiators here, it still comes from well number 3, which is about 200 meters from the garden. It springs at a flow rate of 6.1 liters per second and is 56-58 degrees Celsius. Although the drilling supplies other sites, including the resort’s public mineral bath, there is enough water. Along the way, the temperature hardly drops and the heating with it is more than efficient.

“In one of the study rooms

us, which we consider

the coldest,

the temperature is always

about 24 degrees

As it cannot be adjusted in our country, it is often necessary to open the windows before classes in the winter, because it is very hot in the rooms. Our children are short-sleeved “, says Tanya Yaneva.

That’s why they don’t know what a wooden vacation is here – to stop classes due to lack of heat.

In 1997, with money from the PHARE program, the heating system was repaired because the pipes are sometimes clogged by water deposits, but major accidents have not occurred. And ten years ago, with funds from the Kozloduy Fund, they rehabilitated the outside of the kindergarten building and replaced the windows, which made it even warmer inside. Now they are under repair again – they are modernizing the building under a project of the Rural Development Program of the State Fund “Agriculture” worth nearly a million levs. This time they envisage an alternative way of heating – with pellets.

“We do not intend to give up mineral water as a source of heating. The kindergarten has the right to use 19,782 cubic meters of it annually. In the summer, when she doesn’t need this water, I fill the open pools of the hotels with it “, explains the deputy mayor of the municipality Nurtin Sabri. He says that

if they lose the right

to heat with

mineral water,

only then will they switch to more expensive pellets. In 2011, the municipality received from the state the right to use the mineral water free of charge for 25 years, after which anything can happen, the municipality said.

It is hoped that the renovation of Snezhanka Kindergarten will be completed in March, although the project deadline is longer. Along with the heating system, they will replace the plumbing installation and equipment, build 4 playgrounds in the yard. They will also have a small pool.

There are branches of the kindergarten in the villages of Karamintsi, Boyan Botevo and Angel Voyvoda. However, there is no way to heat with hot water. At the time, it was taken from Mineralni Bani by pipes all the way to Haskovo for the public city bath, but it turned out that due to the long distance – about 18 km, this was not effective.

In 1997, along with the kindergarten, the municipality intended to build a heating system with mineral water for its own building, but for various reasons this did not happen.

“However, we are not giving up on new, more economical technologies. Now we will buy an electric car for the municipality, which will replace two of our current cars with internal combustion engines. We will travel longer distances with the old cars, but for the shorter ones our employees will use the electric car “, says Nurtin Sabri.
