Born in Mexico City on May 25, 1960, Ricardo Campos has a degree from the UNAM Faculty of Psychology, a certificate from the National School of Technical Directors (ENDIT) of the Mexican Football Federation and a diploma in sports psychology. .
He has a long career in national football thanks to his different facets as a player, manager and manager in Liga Mx, Copa Mx, Liga Expansión and the former Liga de Ascenso.
Campos Ortega was champion of the second division with Club Oaxtepec as a player, with which team he was promoted to the first division. In the facets of coach and assistant, with Monarcas Morelia he was champion of Liga Mx in 2000 and Super Cup in 2014; With Cruz Azul, he finished second at the 1999 Apertura; At Club América he finished second at the 2007 Apertura; With Querétaro he was second division champion, second in Liga Mx in 2014, champion of Copa Mx 2015 and Super Cup 2016-2017; He achieved promotion to the first division of Brazil with Perilima and in 2022 he was champion of the Expansion League with Monarcas Morelia.
In his career within the coaching staff, he has shared with coaches of the stature of Tomás Boy, Luis Fernando Tena, José Guadalupe Cruz, Jorge Aude, Ignacio Palou and Ricardo Valiño.
