An alert call to citizens was made by the president of the Social Collective for Mexico (Cosome), David Gonzalez Rojas, so that they are not fooled with fake low-interest loans, as there are currently an average of three scams a week.
He mentioned that in the absence of sales, employment or the need that exist in families, there are people who are taking advantage to scam them, offering them low-interest loans through social networks.
He commented that people receive a message on Whatsapp To offer them loans with a low return, then when they ask about the requirements they ask for their information, then they tell them that they have to give a percentage of the amount and after they deposit a thousand pesos or more they no longer answer them again.
“These people present themselves as serious financials, but when people deposit them, they no longer answer them, the number was dropped and they no longer have a place to claim or prove that they were scammed,” he explained.
In addition to this, he explained, there is more risk, since they provided personal data such as name, address, number of cards and even a photo or copy of their voter ID, information that can be misused and lead to future problems.
He regretted that in these difficult moments due to the situation of the pandemic there are those who take advantage of that need that have merchants to capitalize or to cover some expenses.
González Rojas also asked the population to not be so trusting and not give personal information to just anyone.
