A blizzard that forms in the Northern Plains region of the United States will have multi-state impactincluding New York, although perhaps more like rain and low temperatures, reveals an AccuWeather report.
The storm, meteorologists indicate, would cause the accumulation of snow throughout a strip of approximately 1,800 miles from the northeast of the countrys, starting Monday and for at least a couple of days of the following week.
The main effects, they point out, will be for those who carry out interstate road traveldue to icy and slippery roads.
Between the most affected states there will be North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New York.
In some states the accumulation will be up to 16 inches of snow, but in others there may only be intense winds and rain.
“From southeastern Ontario to the southern tier of New Yorka narrow band of a few inches or more of snow is possible,” said meteorologist Adam Douty.
He added that on Sunday afternoon the effects of the storm may be felt in some regions of Minnesota and Wisconsin, mainly with low temperatures.
Although last week had a snowfall that accumulated just over two inches of snow, New York City has had a mild winter, but with some record cold days.
Some of the heaviest snowfall in the Big Apple has occurred in March.
