The specialized prosecutor’s office proposed to the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev to request the immunity of the MRF MP Dimitar Avramov.
He is a defendant in the Specialized Criminal Court for influence peddling.
Avramov and two of his assistants appear before Themis for being in 2012 asked the farmer Svetoslav Ilchovski BGN 220,000 and the right to use agricultural land in order to solve his problems with the regional agricultural service in Montana. Then Avramov was arrested with a bribe of BGN 100,000 after a signal from Ilchovski, which caused a stir this year with his revelations in the audit committee headed by Maya Manolova in two consecutive parliaments.
In 2012, Dimitar Avramov was an MP from GERB, but after his arrest he was expelled and has been the leader of the MRF list in Montana ever since.
With a ruling of December 1, 2021, the Specialized Criminal Court suspended the criminal proceedings against Avramov because of the immunity he had once again acquired as an MP. The continuation of the case is possible only with the permission of the National Assembly or its written consent.
