Association “Future for Tourism” / OBT / wants the resignation of the Minister of Health Dr. Stoycho Katsarov, the organization announced.
“The recommendation not to travel to Turkey, Greece and Cyprus – the main summer destinations chosen as if at random, led to chaos, mistrust and an outflow of tourists in the height of the season,” said the organization of tour operators and travel agents.
OBT will also alert the trade and economic services of the embassies of the three countries and will seek legal liability for the next blow, according to the organization, inflicted on the sector most severely affected by the pandemic, due to canceled and prepaid tourist trips.
“We demand this resignation due to ill-considered statements, due to the lack of care on the part of the current government towards companies dealing with outbound tourism, due to the total lack of an adequate campaign to encourage Bulgarian citizens to be vaccinated,” the letter to the official said.
