As predicted, the corrupt pact is fighting and it seems that its decoys are the Attorney General, Consuelo Porras, the head of the FECI Rafael Curruchiche, his assistant Cinthia Monterroso and judge Fredy Orellana. They are the ones the majority has set its eyes on and asks for their heads. However, the fundamental contradiction will not be resolved by his resignation, although it may alleviate it; will begin to be resolved with the change in the political model. And, so as not to make it too turbulent but on the basis of the same economic system, loosen the moorings of the old ship to let it burn in the sea of what has been surpassed and address the new relationships in the region that are urgently needed to leave behind the misery, the Racism, enormous inequality, drug trafficking and underdevelopment in infrastructure and technology, is what this political crisis has put on the table.
For Guatemala, it is imperative to celebrate a new social contract where the political actors who until now, not even many, including the great social scientists, knew of its existence or if they did know, they thought they were tiny expressions in their communities, today have been left speechless with the enormous force of his presence. October 20, 2023, is a good date, significant above all, to take back the helm of what others have had over almost 70 years of authoritarianism, racism and marginalization of the large indigenous majority of the population.
The rural communities have shown us in just 19 days that another Guatemala is possible, that the way of exercising power of the cashlanes (ladinos/mestizos) has not worked completely fair and equitable for everyone in their daily lives but rather that they, In their desensitised and abandoned villages they practice day by day to solve their problems, from the most ordinary to the most complex.
Thus, the factual powers that have dominated for almost 70 years, if they want to advance in their own development, have to include, in principle, that life is not only about economic well-being to achieve happiness but that perhaps much more matters, harmony with himself, others and nature. A balance that breaks that cumulative way of producing that degrades from the human being himself to other living beings and the earth. That since
that was imposed on the planet has not taken into account those factors but rather that of selfishness.
But well, since the question is to unblock the critical mess of this moment in the country, the only way out is a political agreement between powerful actors such as the business chambers and among them, the most visionary actors who want to do what they have been wanting for a long time. time, expand its business radius with other nations hitherto vetoed by big brother, such as those that are gaining notoriety for postulating a world
diverse and multipolar and, the indigenous and mestizo authorities that represent thousands of rural, urban and periurban communities that want a much better life, with more development possibilities supported by the expansion of the internal market that would translate into better paid jobs, possibilities of scale through academia that lead us to implement cutting-edge technologies in production, distribution and consumption and, therefore,
Of course, security to freely exercise what is most pleasurable but without affecting or degrading the lives of others.
We have confidence in the wisdom that the people who are the protagonists of these October days have given us and we are confident that the other sector of power can contemplate a good arrangement where the decision of the majority prevails so that the electoral results of August 20 are respected and As a corollary, support the new government to fight to eradicate corruption as a guarantee to oil the wheels of this hard-hit democracy.
If this agreement does not work and is allowed to be sabotaged by the corrupt, the bomb will remain active and at the least expected moment, it will detonate with the most unpredictable consequences, all negative for everyone, even those who consider themselves winners of this historic interim.
We hope, therefore, that dialogue and comprehensive agreements that benefit everyone will prevail to build a great country of small landowners where free competition and a structure of justice that works for everyone in a prompt and fair manner are privileged. Hopefully we can block the selfishness of a small group that until now has resisted handing over power and take that great step in perfecting our Republic.
