Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is causing great passion this year because of his decision not to get vaccinated. It is precisely because of this that he has received a great wave of criticism in recent months.

However, in an interview with the newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija, the Serb’s decision was most recently defended by his coach Goran Ivanišević, who, according to the Spanish portal AS he said: “I respect Novak for making a decision that he will not change. Whatever happens.

If someone claims that he has a bad influence on people, he is wrong. He doesn’t want to get vaccinated, he doesn’t want to inject anything like that into his body, but he never advised others not to get vaccinated.”

Novak Djokovic has already been forced to miss the Australian Open this year, and for now it looks like he won’t even play at the US Open. That’s been on the agenda for a little over a month, but the law that says only vaccinated people can enter the United States is still in place.

“I think it’s more likely that I’ll get a wild card for the tournament in Umag and win it than that Novak will be allowed to participate in the US Open,” emphasizes Goran Ivanišević.

Novak Djokovic’s coach reminds that even vaccinated tennis players got infected at the first three Grand Slams of the season. Therefore, he hopes that the measures will continue to change in individual countries.

“I am vaccinated and I have no problems. In the course of the last two years, however, they constantly threatened us with the fact that if you get infected, you and your entire team will be expelled immediately. They treat you like you have scabies and put us on the wall of shame,” concludes Goran Ivanišević.
