Polish police have confiscated the driver’s license of former European Council President, former Prime Minister and leader of the largest opposition Civic Platform party, Donald Tusk, for three months for speeding. The politician himself said this on Twitter today.

“I violated the traffic rules. A penalty of revocation of the driving license for three months, ten penalty points and a fine was imposed,” Tusk said, stressing that he considered the penalty fair and accepted it without comment.
The incident took place in the central part of the Polish province of Masovia.
“At around 11:00 am, the police detained the 64-year-old driver of a Skoda, who exceeded the speed limit by more than 50 km / h within the city limits near the town of Mlava. He was deprived of his driver’s license and fined,” said local police spokeswoman Anna Pavlovska.
According to the information portal Interia, Tusk was driving at 107 km / h.
