NEW YORK – A family in Queens experienced moments of terror after three suspects entered their residence armed, tied them up and took thousands of dollars in cash, authorities said Saturday.
According to the New York City Police, the robbery occurred on Friday, at about 5:19 pm, in a residence located in the area of 146th Street and 116th Avenue in Queens, when the three alleged thieves entered the outer courtyard through an open entrance.
At that time, authorities said, the suspects threatened five people with weapons and forced them to lie on the ground. Later, the subjects tied up the victims and one of them ordered one of them, a 43-year-old man, to enter the house. Once inside, that individual would have asked where the money was and hit the man with the gun on the head and cut his face.
The suspects searched the scene and took $ 40,000 in cash before fleeing.
No other injuries were reported.
The suspects are described as dark-skinned and stocky men. All three wore masks.
