Mexico City. A federal court temporarily suspended the intermediate hearing, scheduled for May 8, where the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) would formally accuse the former director of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Emilio Lozoya Austin, for the crime of operations with resources of illicit origin related to the Agronitrogenados case.
The determination is added to the definitive suspension that Rubén Darío Noguera Gregoire, head of the Eighth District Court of Amparo in Criminal Matters, granted last Friday to the former official, who ordered the reopening of said matter to be canceled indefinitely.
The Second Collegiate Court of Appeal in Criminal Matters argued that with the granting of the precautionary measure, provisions of public order and social interest are not contravened; However, if it is not granted “it may irreparably consummate the damage or harm that may be caused” to Lozoya Austin.
On May 7, the constitutional hearing will be held where the College will decide whether to grant him the protection of federal justice.
