The preventive patrols in the Plaza de Armas of Chillán, together with the collaboration of the community, continue to bear fruit, allowing citizens to walk increasingly safer.
The Director of Security, Alejandra Martínez, reported that inspectors from the municipal entity who were at the scene were warned by a person about the presence of a young man with a weapon in his clothes.
Following this alert, they proceeded to discreetly follow the young man who was accompanied by a woman and three other people.
According to information from the municipal department, “the individual was wearing a green military-type sweatshirt, pink pants and orange and other colored sneakers, reporting the procedure to the headquarters and waiting for Carabineros, who were informed and quickly deployed throughout the sector. ”.
Once police from the Second Police Station arrived, Alejandra Martínez continues, “they proceeded to inspect the individual, finding a weapon with ammunition.”
As a result of this fact and to verify his background, he was transferred to the Second Police Station of Chillán.
Alejandra Martínez highlighted that, in the Plaza, as well as in various sectors with high attendance, there are permanent teams of inspectors and police guarding that crimes and incivilities that endanger passersby are not carried out.
