The president of the Dominican Medical College (CMD)Caba Monday underlined this thursday the importance for the Dominican Republic to acquire ambivalent vaccines versus COVID due to the increase in cases that have occurred in recent days.
Caba said the high infection rate of the COVID variant circulating in the country cannot be combated with the Pfizer, Moderna and Sinovac vaccines the country has since they are not effective against the strain that produces so many viral diseases in the country .
The doctor insisted on acquiring the ambivalent vaccine, which contains the original strain of the COVID virus and the omicron variant, making it more effective against new versions of the coronavirus.

“I think the Ministry tells people to get vaccinated, especially those who have received a few doses … whoever wants to put it on, I would put on the ambivalent one when it arrives,” said Caba.
However, Senén Caba acknowledged that the current variant that predominates the contagion in the Dominican Republic is less serious, affecting those who contract it for a few days, so he recommended maintaining adequate safety measures, such as physical distancing and use of masks.
