They stone a passenger bus during the night – 2024-04-05 15:01:06

In an unusual event on the Island, the Provincial Transportation Company of Havana reported this Wednesday, April 3, that one of its buses was stoned during the night of Tuesday on Prado Street, between Genios and Cárcel, Centro Habana municipality.

Through an official statement shared on social networks, the state company indicated that the affected vehicle was number 8412, which covered route A58. The bus begins this route in Boyeros and Bruzón, Plaza de la Revolución, and ends in the Bahía district, in Habana del Este.

Among the details shared by the transportation company is that the act of vandalism was recorded at 10:40 pm, and that the authorities arrived at the scene to collect evidence.

“The Company’s automotive safety technician and senior guard attended the scene of the incident. The PNR authorities will investigate the incident and will accompany the company in clarifying it,” the publication reads.

This post was accompanied by photographs in which you can see the damage done by the rock that was thrown at one of the windows of the unit, which ended up with several breaks.

The company urged the community to collaborate to prevent these types of acts, which “conspire with the transportation recovery program that the company has been developing and affect passenger transportation in the Capital.”

In the comments section, several Internet users were against the actions carried out on Wednesday night, pointing out that those most affected by these types of acts were ordinary Cubans.

Among the main complaints made by these people was the fact that transportation on the Island was already in a deplorable state, so attacking one of the few available vehicles was only going to negatively affect the town.

“You may not agree with the system and its political ideology, but breaking the few means we have really is an immense lack of good sense” and “The first affected is the population, including those who do such atrocities,” some said. .

However, others recognized that, although the actions were wrong, they were due to the discontent that the people were experiencing due to the misery experienced on the Island and the repression suffered by the people.

“Discontent should not be expressed with acts of vandalism. These mostly affect citizens” and “I am sure that the sanction has not been stronger than the one given to the person who took out a sign on San Rafael Boulevard,” were some of these comments.

At the moment, no injuries have been reported, and it is unknown if there are suspects or arrests as a result of these events.
