This initiative was sponsored by the World Food Program (WFP) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), with the collaboration of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), he explained.

Each episode contains a culinary recipe with products grown in two agroecological centers in the capital, based on the experiences of the protagonists, including children, who usually go to Finca María (one of the plots) to learn what the process is like from the land sown up to the table.

“Cooking is a game for everyone,” is the title of the documentary series, which can serve as teaching material for schoolchildren and teachers throughout the national territory, said Lemaistre, who thanked the presence of ambassadors and other members at the event. of the diplomatic corps, representatives of various international organizations and institutions of the host nation.

According to the WFP representative here, Etienne Labande, the audiovisual work testifies to how children constitute an important agent of change in any society, in this case to promote healthy eating habits with the resources available at a local level.

For the deputy representative of Unicef ​​in Cuba, Sunny Guidotti, it is about promoting knowledge and practices that have been among the strengths of the United Nations’ collaboration with the island for years in the cultural, educational and nutritional fields.

When consulted by Prensa Latina, Labande considered that the documentaries are just an open window towards the wide universe of collaboration between different United Nations agencies and programs with the country’s authorities.

On the topic under analysis, the Law on Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security of Cuba constitutes a fundamental compass, said the official, who appreciated the systematic meetings to outline cooperation in key and sensitive areas, which, he stated, allows for the identification of gaps. and avoid duplication of efforts.
