This Sunday, August 25, Guatemalan authorities reported the discovery of six charred bodies inside a home located in the hamlet of Los Reyes, in the municipality of San Andrés in the department of Petén.
According to the National Civil Police (PNC) report, the alert was received at the 62nd police station of said department after noon to its messaging number, so they carried out an operation to investigate the incident.
According to the official version, it was the president of the Community Development Council (COCODE) of the village who alerted the authorities about the six dead people.
Upon arriving at the location, PNC agents verified that it was a house that had been completely destroyed and burned. “Six bodies were found, but it was not possible to establish the sex and age of the bodies, since they were completely burned,” the documents state.
