According to the Attorney General’s Office, “Jota Indio” would have been designated by Dairo Antonio Úsuga, alias Otoniel, as coordinator of the drug activities of the illegal structure in the north of the country and liaison with other transnational criminal structures, after the capture of the already extradited Juan José Valencia Zuluaga (“Falcon” or “Andrea”), in May 2021.
After assuming said role, Marín maintained contact direct with the mexican cartel
from Jalisco New Generation, to whom he sent drug shipments that left through the ports or in speedboats through the routes he administered on the Atlantic coast, especially in Cartagena.
“Jota Indio” He was captured in a joint action by the Prosecutor’s Office and the Dijín of the National Police in New Castile, Meta, to what extent he allegedly went into hiding after learning of the court order against him.

To the defendant, who did not accept the charges, a custodial measure was imposed on him in La Picota prison, in Bogotá.
With nearly 20 years of criminal life, Marín began its actions in the Mining Block of the extinct Self-Defense Groups United States of Colombia (AUC). In 2009, he was arrested for the murder of an 11-year-old boy and three years later, In 2012, he joined the Clan del Golfo.
The ringleader would be responsible for more than a ton of cocaine that was seized between 2019 and 2023, in four different procedures. The most recent find, weighing 140 kilograms, occurred in a warehouse at the Cartagena maritime terminal.
