The apartment of Vasil Mihailov, son of the Pernik prosecutor Biser Mihailov, is being searched by the investigators. The case is being conducted by the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office and following a complaint by the young man’s ex-girlfriend. She claims she was threatened with death and investigators are currently looking for the phone from which the threat was made, Mediapool has learned.
From Pernik to Sofia
The file about the threat was initially created in Pernik. As expected, all the prosecutors there have withdrawn and therefore the case has been sent to Sofia.
Events developed in the same way in the other investigation against Mihailov Jr. It is for several assaults and bodily harm. Work on it began only after the family of another victim appeared in the media. Then the mayor of the city, Stanislav Vladimirov, also intervened and said that he would seek help if the local police and prosecutor’s office could not cope.
Only then did the investigators act. More than a year has passed since these events. The case is still pending before the first instance.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor’s father was demoted, but he never left the judicial system.
Telephone
Mihailov Jr. spent months in pre-trial detention. He was recently placed under house arrest. According to unofficial information, his ex-girlfriend claimed that she was threatened about three months ago, investigators believe that he had a phone while he was in the cells.
This is his second house arrest. In the first case, he announced on national air that he was leaving his apartment and was taken back into pre-trial detention.
